Upgrading to Vdaq 2.4 from Vdaq 2.1 or Earlier

If you are running Vdaq 2.1 or older, you can upgrade to Vdaq 2.4 by following the instructions below. But first you have to choose an upgrade path. If you are running the Windows NT operating system, which was installed on many Imager 3001 systems, then you should decide if you want to migrate to Windows XP before you upgrade your Vdaq. Migration is a significant task, but once done you be able to use Vdaq within a more modern and convenient operating system.

If you are running Vdaq 2.1 or older on a Windows XP system, the upgrade process involves installing the MIL libraries that Vdaq uses, in addition to installing Vdaq. This is more work than simply upgrading Vdaq, but it results in a more reliable and productive system.

For imager 3001 systems already running under XP:

For imager 3001 systems running under NT:

Optical imaging supports the installation process of Vdaq 2.4 on a working installation of Windows XP or Windows NT. Please note: The operating system upgrade to Windows XP is not supported by Optical imaging, and should be performed only by a computer expert.

Before you begin the upgrade process, download all the files in one of the followig tables, and read the instructions. You have to follow them to the letter in order to get a working 2.4 system. Please contact Kaare Christian (USA) if you encounter any problems.
